Hallelujah Project, Mayfair

Working for the Handel and Hendrix Museum in central London, Attune provided acoustic services in relation to the Hallelujah Project renovation works.

The works involved the restoration of the building to its form when Handel lived at the property, including work to the façade and internal works to form new visitor spaces and to restore and combine the front and rear parlours.

Acoustic input was needed to advise on the practicality of musical performances happening in different rooms at the same time. Attune carried out sound insulation testing (including between Jimmy Hendrix’s bedroom and the surrounding spaces) and advised on potential ways to improve the sound insulation between rooms, and on the partition performances between new room divisions.

The major musical aspect of this project was the relocation of Handel’s personal organ from St George’s Church back to his parlour room alongside a period harpsichord and spinet. Attune had the honour of advising on the room acoustics in the space for performances on this historic instrument.
