Commercial Air-Tightness Testing Site Readiness Form
Is your site ready for Air-tightness Testing?
We have received your instruction for air-tightness testing (ATT) in commercial areas. Prior to arranging our initial site testing visit, we must ensure that the site is ready. This form sets out a list of conditions that must be met for us to carry out testing. Please note that there is a standing charge of £225 excluding VAT for any visits cancelled with less than 48 hours notice. If any visits are abortive due to adverse site conditions, payment for the visit will be required in full.
By completing the form below, you are confirming that the site is ready for our visit to test, helping us to ensure that we are able to test first time.
Testing Information
- Personnel can work normally within the building on the day and during test setup. However, access in/out of the building needs to be controlled, particularly during the test (usually around 30 minutes). Personnel also need to be made aware of the test and the required site conditions, as set out in the following points.
- Please ensure that other works on the test day will not prevent the test from being undertaken. Examples would include HVAC systems commissioning, screeding floors, power outages, painting and decorating in the vicinity of the fans, fitting doors etc. If a test cannot be completed at the arranged time due to such works, then it may have to be aborted at full cost.
- An appropriate member of the project team shall be present to liaise with our Testing Operative(s). This will better facilitate the testing and will allow for leakage diagnosis witnessing in the event of any failures.
- A safe means of access above 2 m will be required to facilitate air leakage identification in high level areas.
- We expect to use electric fans for this test, for which a 240v or 110v power supply will be required for each fan. Please ensure that either mains power is live within the building, or that generators of sufficient capacity (please confirm) are on site. Fan positioning is an important consideration.
- External doors leading into large open areas and stairwells are preferred to ensure the widest distribution of pressure.
- A parking space is needed for a Transit-sized van within 10 – 20 m of the test location on site. If a parking space cannot be provided, any parking charges including fines incurred will be chargeable to the client.
- Tests will be carried out in strict accordance with the requirements of the correct methodology (ATTMA TS1/2).
- Any deviations from normal testing practice will need to be confirmed in writing from Building Control.
- Air Permeability Target – If the SBEM target is known, please confirm this to us prior to the test or have it ready for the Testing Operative on the day.
- Our Testing Operatives need to be allowed to carry out their tests without being subjected to any form of harassment.
